About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
I was born and raised in Holden and am a product on Dawson Elementary, Mountview, and Wachusett. I have been teaching for approximately 9 years. I started teaching 8th grade in Worcester and loved it! But I accepted the 6th grade position at Mountview and to be honest wouldn't want to teach any other grade level. I received my BA in History from Worcester State College, my M.Ed in Middle School Education from Fitchburg State, and I just finished my CAGS in School Administration. I believe that I am a life-long learner and want to instill that philosophy in my students. I am very excited about this coming year and the new curriculum challenges that we will face (Literacy Initiative). Oh! I'm also a HUGE Red Sox fan!
Mission Label:
Mission
Students need to understand that not everyone is an "A" student. Effort is the key to success. As long as they work hard and put forth 100% effort into even the smallest assignment, they will succeed. Learning doesn't come from doing the right thing every time. Sometimes we need to fail first so the correct path is that much clearer. Students should not be afraid of failure. Everyone fails at some point in their life. It's how they respond to that failure that dictates true character.
