Well, our winter vacation has drawn to a close.  I look forward to seeing you all!  We have a lot to accomplish before our “Voyage to Mars” next week!  This week will be dedicated to working on our “Gifts that Money can’t Buy” assignment, discussing the heritage project, and preparing for our field trip.

By now you should be finishing up your heritage interview and preparing to type it up.  You should be working on your make beliefs as well.  You will need a 2”-3” binder to serve as your portfolio, so if you haven’t already brought one in, please do so by the end of the week. 

Our next genre will be biographies/autobiographies.  Before you groan, think about what hobbies you enjoy.  If you love to read Harry Potter, pick up a biography on J.K. Rowling.  If you love to skateboard, read a biography about Tony Hawk.  Think of your favorite athlete and read all about his or her life.  Biographies can be interesting as well as informative if you give them a chance!
