Word Study is where we focus on vocabulary development, spelling, grammar, and the English language.  The goal is to enrich students' working vocabulary, encourage the use of spelling rules, and enable students' to broaden their understanding of how words are used in our language.

 We will begin the year with a review of the parts of speech.  In addition to using our grammar and writing textbook as a guide, I will be using many “hands-on” and interactive methods to help with the often tedious task of mastering parts of speech and helping students improve their writing and their understanding of the English Language.

Vocabulary words for week #1 are listed below.  Quizzes will be given each time we complete two vocabulary lists.
