Homework for the week of October 6th – October 10th  

 

Monday, October 6th   

You should have completed your mystery. Bring it to class today.

 

Tuesday, October 7th

The second paragraph of your dragon story is due today.  If you had already completed it last Friday, make any noted corrections.

 

Wednesday, October 8th

1. Bring your mystery and your flash drive to class!  We are in the library today and tomorrow.  You will be able to work on both your dragon story and your mystery project.

2. Due today - Organizer for mystery project should be completed.  You will have class time on Monday and Tuesday.

 

Thursday, October 9th  

A typed draft of your dragon story is due today.  Follow all WRSD manuscript rules including a proper heading and 1.5 spacing.  Use size 12 print in a “normal” font.

 

Friday, October 10th

Half Day!  Enjoy your three day weekend!

Remember to bring your red binder, agenda book, and an independent reading book to class. 

 You need a glue stick for class tomorrow!

Bring your mystery to class!

1. Very short quiz today on the “Dragon, Dragon” vocabulary – the words are defined on the Study Guide page. 

 

Thursday, October 2nd  

Study for tomorrow’s test.  Bring your “study poster” back to class on Friday.  It will be graded as in in-class assignment.

* I will be staying after school until 3:45 if you need help on the organizer for your dragon story.  Come with the ideas for your story!

 

Friday, October 3rd

Test today on “Dragon, Dragon”

Your graphic organizer (plot diagram) is due for your story

You must have an IR book with you! 

 

 

 

 

Homework for the week of September 22nd – September 26th  

 

Monday, September 22nd  

Remember to bring your red binder, agenda book, and an independent reading book to class. 

 

On Friday, you have an assignment due that requires you to go to the following website.  I will give you the handout to complete.  You do not have to print it yourself.  http://homepage.mac.com/cohora/ext/fever.pdf

You need to follow the directions to complete the 14 questions and the “challenge.”  You do NOT have to do the writing assignments on the final page.  You must answer each question in complete sentences.  **The link for question #8 is not working, so use http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/aia/part3/3p1590.html.

1/2 Day of School – Go home and read and work on the assignment due Friday!

 

Wednesday, September 24th  

Nothing is due today – be sure to be working on the Fever 1793 interactive assignment.  You need to do 1-14 and the challenge.  You do not have to do the writing assignments on the last page.

 

Thursday, September 25th  

Due today: Flash cards for “Dragon, Dragon” vocabulary.  In addition, you need cards for the definitions of plot and setting.  Include a card that shows a plot diagram with all five elements labeled.  The vocabulary words and definitions can be found under Study Guides.

 

Friday, September 26th

Due today: 

1. Fever 1793 Interactive Assignment – See the LINKS Page – If you are not able to complete this at home, be sure to work on it during activity period on Thursday.  Don’t forget the library is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a late bus is available.

 2. Don’t forget that there will be independent reading time today and I will be conferencing with you.  You must have an IR book with you!

Tuesday, September 16th  

Due today: A handwritten draft of your hero paragraph, recipe, or poem is due.  If you did not finish the graphic organizer or the hero worksheet in class, you must complete them and hand them in today. They will count as a graded in-class assignment.

 

Wednesday, September 17th

Due today: Crossword puzzle #1 with the spelling words written out four times on the back. 

 

Thursday, September 18th

Due today: A typed or neatly handwritten final copy of your hero assignment. Be sure to review the direction sheet!

 

Friday, September 19th

Due today: 

1. Spelling test on list #1

2. Book Brochure

3. Don’t forget that there will be independent reading time today and I will be conferencing with you.  You must have an IR book with you!

Remember to bring your red binder, agenda book, and an independent reading book to class.  If you did not pass in your summer reading notes on Friday, you must pass them in today.

Language survey is due today.

Due today: Handwritten or typed draft of your book brochure. 

 

Thursday, September 11th

Due today:  Genre worksheet (This is available under LA docs on my website.)

Tonight is our Sixth Grade Open House.  This is for parents and guardians only.  Students cannot attend. L

 

Friday, September 12th

Due today: 

1. Typed draft of your book brochure set up in two columns.  (If you are using a program that can create brochures, you can certainly use this for your draft.)  Save your colored ink!  No illustrations or “fancy” touches are needed on this typed draft.

2. Don’t forget that there will be independent reading time today and I will be conferencing with you.  You must have an IR book with you!
