About The Teacher
I am very pleased to be here at Mountview Middle School teaching sixth grade Math. I grew up on the South Shore of Massachusetts and graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a degree in Business Administration. While working in a math-related profession in the high tech industry for several years, I continued my education, obtaining a Masters in Business Administration from Clark University in Worcester. Later, I decided to utilize my math skills as an educator, earning my second Masters degree in Education from Lesley University. By combining my previous work experience in the business world with my middle school math teaching background, I aim to provide a rich, real-life math experience for Holden’s sixth graders. I love Math and hope to instill that same passion in my sixth grade students. I once lived in Holden for a few years, but now my family lives in Sterling. Favorite student quote: Sometime in October, one of my students commented, “Mrs. Lawrence, you really want us to learn Math this year, don’t you!?” This remark made me realize that, very early in the school year, my students understood how committed I am to their learning and success in Math.
