History Department Extra Credit Policy
The question of extra credit for students comes up each grading period. The
MVRCS history department policy regarding extra credit work is that if you
satisfactorily do the required assignments outlined in the syllabus, and/or
assigned in class, there is no need for extra credit. The equivalent amount
of time spent doing extra credit work should have been devoted to preparing
sufficiently for tests or completing assignments in a timely manner.
All students are encouraged by the department to seek individual assistance
with any academic responsibility at any time they feel the need. As such,
any deficiencies or confusion can be addressed in an immediate fashion
rather than presuming that extra credit can be used at a later date.
