Suggested Topics for the MCAS Essay

 

1.        If you could switch places with one person in the world, who would it be and why?

 

2.        If you could change one moment in history, what would it be?  Give three reasons for your choice.

 

3.        Imagine your perfect day.  Tell how you would spend it.

 

4.        Tell about one person whom you respect a great deal.  Tell about the different aspects of their life, personality, and character that you respect so much.

 

5.        If your principal chose you to plan the perfect one day field trip for the seventh grade, what kind of a day would you plan for your class.  Keep in mind that you want everyone to have a good time.

 

6.        What advice would you give to a third grader to make him or her have a successful school experience?

 

7.        What does it mean to be a true friend?  Tell about the qualities needed to form a long-lasting friendship.  Be sure to give plenty of examples.

 

8.         Tell why parents should send their children to Mystic Valley Regional Charter School.

 

9.        Tell about one hobby or talent that you have that makes your life happy.

 

10.    Tell about how your life has changed since you were in the third grade.
