Mrs. Eskelinen is the 4th-8th Grade General Music teacher at MVRCS as well
as the conductor of the school's Band and Chorus. This is her fifth year
here at Mystic Valley Regional Charter School. She is a trombone player,
but loves all of the instruments, and loves exploring new sounds and styles
of music.
My goal for 7th Grade Music is to enjoy learning about different aspects of
music. We will work on composing our own songs, as well as playing various
percussion instruments. 7th Grade Music focuses on art music from the 19th
Century as well as the American musical traditions of Blues and Jazz.
My goal for 8th Grade Music is to enjoy learning about different, relatively
modern types of music that might inspire us to try listening to and
performing new styles of music. I would like us to perform as much as
possible while studying music from around the world and from America in the
20th Century.
