Extra credit given for a museum or gallery visit. Students should write at least 1 paragraph about the
show and bring in a ticket, postcard and/or a drawing from the exhibit.
All students need to draw and write in their workbooks/sketchbooks as often as possible.

All art students need to have a sketchbook. Please bring in your sketchbook
to each art class.
Cut out pictures of various kinds of art, artists and designs that will be
inspiring for independent projects.
Draw from life as often as you can.
IB Assignments are ongoing:
You should strive for writing and sketching in your WB every day, completing at least 1 to 2 pages a
day.
At the higher level you will need to complete at least 5 finished pieces of artwork a semester for final
portfolio consideration.
Library and internet research connected to your theme will give you inspiration for studio work.
Print-out articles and write a synopsis about the subject.
Write about how it connects to your chosen theme.
Look to other cultures for inspiration and historical references for your artworks.
Write about your personal interpretations of the articles and artwork you are currently reading and
working on. How do you think and feel about your current projects? Everything should be
documented.
Remember to number and date your pages.
Refer to your list of goals and make sure you are keeping up with what you need to accomplish this
semester.
