Reading
On Monday-Thursday some sort of reading
homework is usually sent home. Most often this
is a song, or a nursery rhyme, and eventually a book.
I want your child to practice reading these silently
many times, and out loud one or two times to Mom or
Dad. In addition to this, reading aloud picture books
to your child every night is a wonderful way
to model great reading.
Fundations
A packet of activities is sent home at the start of
each new unit in our Fundations program. Phonics and word
study are the major components of this program. Please
complete the activities and return to school.
Mathematics
On Monday-Thursday a Home Link will usually
be sent home. This should take between 5 to
10 minutes to complete. As the year progresses
you need to continue helping your child master their
basic addition and subtraction facts.
I will try not to send homework home on Fridays!
