| Every Day Math:
Math Journal 1, Math Notebook/Binder to keep your homework papers and tests
in for quick reference and studying purposes.
Pencils only in math class!
Reading Workshop:
Reading Log (I provided and we organized it in class). A place to write
reflections and letters to your teacher about the book you are reading.
A just-right book of your choice to work with and apply our reading
strategies to.
Pens, pencils, sticky post-its (I provide).
Writing Workshop:
Writer's Notebook (I provided a spiral bound one-subject notebook to each
student)
Writer's Folder
Poetry Journal
Spelling Test Book
All reading and writing materials are to be kept in your boxes on the
countertop in class - not in your desk. You may take reading log, poetry
journal, and writing log home on occasion for homework/study purposes.
Social Studies:
Primary text book: America's Story
Secondary (supplimental) text:A History of Us: Volumes 1-4 by Joy Haikum
Social studies notebook: three ring binder set up like your science notebook
with five divider tabs.
Halfway through each term you will have to take your portfolio/notebooks
home
and share them with your parents. You need to select one exemplar piece of
your work to reflect on and write why you think it is a superb example of
your best efforts. You also need to pick two less-than perfect examples
and
try to explain in a written reflection how you could have done the chosen
pieces better.
Three ring binder with five tab dividers - set up the same as your science
notebook.
Pens and pencils - colored pencils and ultra thin black sharpies would be
good for labeling and coloring maps.
