Education is very important to me. I have always viewed it as a vehicle
to better ourselves and enrich our quality of life. Education does not just
occur in the formal school/institutional settings; we learn things
everywhere. I am humble enough to know I am still learning - and loving and
appreciating the growth that comes with it.
In formal educational terms, I earned my undergraduate degree in
Elementary Education at Fitchburg State College in 1998. I decided to go back
to school in 2000 part-time while I was teaching and obtained a MEd from
Worcester State College in 2004. This is my tenth year at Wachusett Regional
School District.
I am an active member of the community I live in, Northbridge. I serve
as my church's Sunday school superintendant. We also run a monthly Grass
Roots Coffee House, featuring folk artists from the Central MA area.
In 2004 I was invited to become a member of the Beta Chapter of Alpha
Delta Kappa, an International Honorary Organization for Women Educators.
I keep going to conferences and conventions during the summer months to meet
with educators from all over the world to share, learn, and teach each other
new things.
For fun I love gardening, camping, reading, hiking, and singing - but
most of all I love teaching. I feel like I am lucky because I have the best
job in the world!
