What are good questions to ask my child when we read together?
It is always a great idea to ask your second grader to retell the story that he/she has read to you or you have read aloud. Also, when reading a new story, it is a wonderful idea to stop reading after a few pages and make some predictions about what may happen in this story. When the reading is complete, ask your child what was the most important thing that happened in the story and tell why it was so important.
