Why is homework worth 25% of our grade?
To learn any skill you must practice. Practice playing the piano
makes you
better. Practice hitting a baseball makes you a better player.
Doing math
homework (practice) makes you a better mathematician!
Why do you make us do projects?
Projects allow you to have another method of showing your
proficiency with
math. Most projects are related to the topic being covered in
class. They
also let you show your drawing, computer, and writing skills.
I'm a sophomore, I got a poor quiz grade, what should I do?
Since you had difficulty with the material covered in the quiz
you need to
1. Review your notes on the topics,
2. Review the questions on the quiz
3. Ask the teacher or a classmate for help, and
4. Re-take the quiz to get a 70%.
Complete these steps within a week of taking the original quiz.
I need help with math, how do I get it?
You have several different ways to get additonal help with math
1. Meet with your teacher before or after school or at lunch.
2. Ask a clasmate for help
3. Ask another math teacher for help
4. Ask if a National Honor Society member could give you free
tutoring.
