Homework for TUESDAY, May 22, 2012HOMEWORK CLUB WILL BE HELD AGAIN ON THURSDAY (5/24) THIS WEEK! MRS. LANTZ WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR EXTRA HELP WITH HOMEWORK, PARTICULARLY WITH RESEARCH AND WRITING FOR STATE REPORTS. ANYONE IN MRS. LANTZ'S CLASS IS WELCOME TO COME, BUT YOU MUST BE PREPARED TO WORK! Please be sure to arrange for someone to pick you up at 4:00 PM (or before) down at the end of the building (where pick-up line is). Mrs. Lantz MUST leave promptly at 4:00 to pick up TP, so please make sure someone is here for you! You can bring an afternoon snack to enjoy while you work. MATH 1. FINISH the 7.1 Decimals packet by answering questions #29 -50. Due TOMORROW.
SOCIAL STUDIES1. Complete questions #13 - 23 in your Midwest packet using your green book. Due TOMORROW.2. You will have a TEST on the Midwest region NEXT WEDNESDAY. Use the vocabulary and the questions to help you study for the test.
SPELLING/WRITING1. Complete the crossword puzzle handed out using this week's spelling words. Due TOMORROW.2. Study your words, homonyms, and the idiom for this week's test on FRIDAY.

READINGTHERE IS NO LOG THIS WEEK! REMEMBER THAT WORK THAT IS REQUIRED TO BE COMPLETED FOR YOUR READING GROUPS CAN COUNT AS YOUR 30 MINUTES OF READING, JUST WRITE "GROUP WORK" ON YOUR LOG! Read an independent book of your choice for 30 MINUTES EACH NIGHT. Record your reading on your Weekly Reading Log. Remember to have your parents sign the log on Sunday night before it is DUE ON MONDAY. You will be graded on your recording and reading as well as your ONE THOUGHTFUL ENTRY about the reading you did for the week.
2. Homework assignments may include make-up work due to illness.
3. Reinforcement or enrichment work may be given to meet the individual needs of the child.
4. Special projects or reports will be assigned during the school year to enhance research skills and develop individual responsibility.
5. Reading for pleasure may be a frequent assignment at any grade and should be assumed when other work is not given.

Although homework is an integral part of your child's educational experience, your child should NOT be spending in excess of an hour each night on the homework. If this is the case, please let me know as soon as possible so that we may consider other alternatives.
