Mrs. Fields is in her third year teaching in Revere. She did her student
teaching at Brighton High School in Boston and the year before that, she
tutored fifth grade in the Chicago Public Schools. She received her B.A.
from Clark University in Worcester in 2004 and then completed her M.A.T. at
Boston University, 2007. She enjoys baking, reading, and traveling (recent
travels include Costa Rica, San Francisco, and Chicago). She also spent far
too much of her life in dimly lit theatres, where she occupied the roles of
stage manager, director, light board op and more. She hopes to get involved
again at a time when her schedule is a little lighter.
I am reading Thinking in Pictures: And Other Reports of my Life with
Autism by Temple Grandin. It is an autobiography about the author's life
with autism and how it has affected and benefitted her over the course of her
life. Can you think about something special about yourself that affects how
you see the world? Perhaps, you love music and so you always hear beats and
rhythms in every day life. Maybe you like drawing and see things as
potential subjects for your drawing. Do you like numbers and love to count
things? How do your talents and differences affect your thinking about the
world around you?
