Vaccine Information

Students who received seasonal Flumist at school on Friday October 16th are now eligible for another dose of Flumist.

Flumist whether seasonal or H1N1 must be given at intervals of 28 days.

If your child is ages 9 or under AND that was the first dose
EVER of Seasonal Flumist; the CDC recomends two doses at intervals of 28days. Those parents with children in this age group who responded to the recent notice sent in backpacks will receive either the second dose of seasonal Flumist OR the first dose of H1N1 as indicated by parents on the returned form.  If you did not respond, no further vaccination of your child will occur during school.   You are still eligible to take your student to the afterschool vaccine clinic to receive H1N1 flumist or the second dose of seasonal flu mist.

If you would like your child to be vaccinated with both types of vaccine; the CDC reccommends alternating the doses.
(example; Seasonal-dose #1, H1N1-dose #1, seasonal-dose #2, H1N1-dose #2)

If your child is 10 years old or older and you want them to receive the H1N1 vaccine; We will be offering it to Rockport Public School students during our after school clinics held in the elementary school cafeteria beginning with younger students and working through to grade twelve depending on vaccine supply.  Specific grades will be notified by ConnectEd with details of when to bring your child to the clinic.  Parents must be present at the afterschool clinic.
