WELCOME

As administrators, teachers and staff, we welcome students and parents to an exciting school year at Rockport Middle School. Through out this year we will continue to refine our team-based instructional approach to the enhancement of student learning. While examining together the expectations which we hold for ourselves and our students at each grade level, we have also initiated better supervision for the development and evaluation of our work in the disciplines themselves. In this way we continue to develop and actualize a solid model for middle school education. It is our goal to provide a school characterized by a positive orientation and an organizational structure carefully designed to meet the developmental needs of our students. It is also our goal to provide and to expect excellence in the various disciplines in our curriculum. We feel that the combination of this design for education and the presence of an intelligent faculty will encourage the best in our middle school students.

These are the years when our students are in transition from childhood to young adulthood. That transition makes even more critical the initiatives that we make for our students. As they move through this period, we want them to experience a stable yet flexible school program that is sensitive to their changing needs, which encourages their academic success and which enhances their picture of a successful tomorrow.

We value communication among students, teachers, parents and our community. We appreciate your help in supporting our educational and behavioral goals.
