Hi everyone,

We wanted to make you aware and ask for your help!  Next week begins our spring MCAS testing schedule.  Tuesday, March 20th will be the first session.  That session will include grade 7 and grade 10 students.  They will be completing the long composition portion of the exam.  On Wednesday, March 21st and Thursday, March 22nd grade 6, 7, 8, and 10 students will be taking the reading comprehension portion of the MCAS exam.

What can you do to help?  Here are some basic suggestions that will assist your students be in the right frame of mind to demonstrate their potential on the exam:
• Make sure s/he gets a good night’s sleep prior to the testing dates
• Make sure s/he has a good breakfast each morning for testing and for every school day
• Make sure s/he gets to school on time on each testing date
• Please avoid being absent on test dates; any student who is absent for the tests will have to make them up at a later date
• Please bring two or three #2 pencils for testing

Thank you for your help!  We are looking forward to all of our students demonstrating their knowledge and skills on these statewide assessments.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact us here at school

TARDINESS

School begins @ 7:35AM each day and ends @ 2:10PM. Students are allowed three unexcused tardies per quarter. These are for such things as alarm clocks that didn't go off, car keys that can't be located, cars that won't start, etc. Tardiness is excused only in the case of illness, medical appointments, or family emergencies. After the third unexcused tardy, detention will be assigned. Please make every effort to assure your student arrives to school on time.

Absences & Tardiness

Parents are reminded that local and state laws require a note when a student is absent from school. Students should return to school with a note stating the date and reason for the absence and signed by a parent/guardian. The same is true when a student comes to school late. Parents who call the school in the morning to report an absence do NOT need to follow-up with a note. THANKS!
