the Rockport School Committee Website
The Rockport School Committee
is comprised of five members who share an interest in promoting and bettering
the public education system in the town of Rockport, Massachusetts.
As
defined by Mass General Law Chapter 71 Section 39, our primary
responsibilities include:
- Setting
and maintaining policy for the Rockport Public School District.
- Overseeing and approving the annual budget for the school
district, and acting as the employer for collective bargaining.
- Hiring the Superintendent to run the
school district and annually evaluating the Superintendent’s
performance
We are
advocates of public education and support the core values of the Rockport
Public School District while providing direction for the on-going development
of the school system.
The
Rockport School Committee conducts its business meetings twice monthly, which
are open to the public. Please visit our Meetings
page for the current schedule as well as the archive of our meeting agendas
and minutes.
Our website is intended to help keep the public informed of
committee activities. Please take a moment to explore the site. If you have
any questions or concerns, please contact a committee member or the
