African Drumming: 2:30-3:00 (K); 3:05-4:00 (1-5)

In this West African Drum Class students will learn rhythms from West Africa, played on the djembe (a W. African hand drum) and dundun (played with a stick). The class will build rhythmic and listening skills while also providing fun opportunities for students to improvise and create their own rhythms.

The instructor, Allison Stamiris, is currently teaching West African Drumming in several schools in Roxbury and Cambridge.

Class meets: Oct. 5, 19, 26; Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; Dec. 7, 14 (no class on 10/12).

$60 for ten-week session for Kindergarten

$100 for ten-week session for Grades 1-4
