Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a blessed Christmas and that you
got to spend some quality time with your family. I wish you all a wonderful
new year filled with good health and much happiness.
Here is what we have planned for this week :
8th grade:
We will be working on Chapter 6A this week. Today we will cover
superlatives and review comparative adjectives. We will introduce two new
stem-changing verbs- poder and dormir. This should be relatively easy
considering that we have talked about stem-changing verbs before. We will
have a few quizzes this week and have the Chapter 6A test by the end of next
week. In the meantime we will begin working on the written portion of our
house project in class.
The 7th grade will begin the year with a review of subject pronouns so
that we can begin to learn -ar verbs in the present tense. We will also be
talking about our class schedules in Spanish.
In Religion the 7th grade will be starting Chapter 7. In this chapter we
will be discussing sin and free will.We will also explore the follwoing
questions: Who helps us make the right decisions? Who in your life calls you
to live your faith?
In the 6th grade we talked about the resolutions we made for the new
year. Some students said to do better in school. Others said they wanted to
stop using curse words. We all agreed that we wanted to be better people.
We began a new chapter- Chapter 4. We will be talking about Noah and the
Tower of Babel.
For Spanish in 6th grade we will begin a unit on the weather. There will
be a mini-project involved in this unit.
Have a good week!
