Yes. If you would like your child to attend on half-days and/or

Most of the time. Occasionally we provide lunch. Parents will

parents do not bring in fast food (McDonald's, Subway, KFC, etc.)

What if my child does an after school activity?
If your child participates in an after school activity (scouts,

What are the hours of operation for Extended Day?
Extended Day is open from 2:15-6:00 p.m. on regular school days;
11:00 a.m. -6:00 p.m. on half-days; and 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m on
professional days.
How are students disciplined?
Extended Day provides care for a large number of children with a
broad age range. The success of the program is contingent on all
children being responsible for their own behavior and making
every effort to live up to the standards of behavior set by the
director and staff. Children are encouraged to use their verbal
skills, make good choices, listen to and respect each other when
working through conflicts. A serious disciplinary action is
defined as one in which a child is hampering the flow of the
program by requiring one on one attention, is inflicting physical
or emotional harm to other children or to the staff, or is
otherwise unable to conform to the rules and guidelines of the
program. Once a parent is notified, a meeting may be arranged
with the director and/or principal. If, after consultation with
the parent(s), the problem cannot satisfactorily be resolved, the
child will be removed from the program. Each case of a
disciplinary problem will be recorded by the director and kept on
file. If a child accrues 3 infractions, the director may remove
the child from the program.
Will my child have time set aside for homework?
Students in first through eighth grade will have scheduled
homework time. The length of the homework time depends on the
student's grade and work load. First grade and second grade are
assigned homework time long enough to complete their
assignments. Third grade has a mandatory half hour of homework
time. Fourth grade has a mandatory 45 minutes of homework time.
Fifth through eighth grade has a mandatory 60 minutes of
homework. Extra time is always available for students who need
it. Students who complete their assignments before their homewok
time is over are expected to read or work on worksheets provided
by the Extended Day staff.
If my child is absent will I be reimbursed/credited?
Our Extended Day Program provides full services each day whether
your child is present or not. Therefore, no reduction in tuition
can be made for absences. Exceptions may be made if your child
will be absent for an extended period of time (3+ weeks). Please
see the director for more information.
