Last week in Language Arts, we worked on the letter Ss. We read the big book, Growing Vegetable Soup and sang the phonics song, "All on a Summer Sunday". We made spiders with "S" picture shoes. We made Super Sock books and wrote about spiders and snakes in our journals. We made Ss books with s words, pictures from magazines, and colored s pictures. We learned the sight words: can, at. We also worked with our Grandparents and Special people on shape scarecrows and a scarecrow color words book.
In Math, we reviewed position words. We learned about one to one correspondence and using the words "as many as".
In Religion, we learned about how God made all people. We painted self portraits. We worked with partners to draw different people. We sang a song about people and talked about our similarities and differences.
In Science we continued discussing Fall. We read stories about scarecrows and learned a scarecrow poem.
