NewsFlash 1

We had a very busy week but it was terrific.  Our Christmas Program was wonderful.  I was so proud of all the children for being such great angels.  We ended our week by exchanging cards with our reading buddies and watching Mickey Mouse Christmas Carol.
In language arts our story was called Lilly's Plastic Purse.  Our song was 'Patty' and our rhyme was called Mary's Lamb.  Our letter was Pp and we did many activities including making a penguin and the P page in our alphabet book.  Skills that we worked on this week were following directions, recall and retell, grouping things, cause and effect and color words.
In math we identified and wrote numbers 13-20.  We also did math activities at centers including candy cane and gingerbread men patterns.  We used tree ornaments to sort, count and add.
In religion we continued learning about  Advent.  We lit our pink candle and also attended the final school Advent gathering in the school hall.

*****Our Polar Express/Christmas party is on Monday, December 21st.  Everyone should have received a letter about the party.  The children are allowed to wear their pajamas to school this day.

*****If you haven't already, please send in an empty container with a lid and the children will make their own Oh, No! game to keep at home.  This is a great way for the children to continue to practice the high frequency words.

****** Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for outside play.  It is a good idea to keep a hat and mittens/gloves in their coat pocket.
