My name is Brenna Ireland and this is my third year teaching at Shaker Lane. I previously taught in the Newton Public Schools. I am a graduate of Boston College with a Masters in Elementary Education and have two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Connecticut. I am eager to continue my journey of teaching within the Littleton School system, with you and your child. This will be a special class for me and I am excited for the events the school year will bring.
When your child enters his or her second grade classroom in September, they will be entering a respectful and peaceful climate. I will create a place for learning that challenges all children and allows them to feel safe to take educational risks. I believe all children have the capacity to learn. As their teacher, I will provide them with the knowledgeable tools they will need to achieve their educational goals. We are working together to provide these tools to your child. As a team, we should both be fully aware of your child’s progress. During the school year, I will be sending work and assignments home in a weekly “take home” folder. I ask that you sign this as an acknowledgment that you have seen it. Please do not hesitate to comment on your child’s work and to contact me at anytime. I know you, your child and I will make this school year rewarding, fulfilling and most of all FUN!
