Tuesday...November 10th
FYI: If your child goes to historyalive.com they are able to take a "mock" test on the social studies chapters. They are usually very close to the actual test. This is very good practice
.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Report cards will NOT be given out this week as planned. Due to the high volume of absent children our principal, Ms. Simanski, has given the teachers more time to collect late work and post grades. The new date for report cards will be Wednesday, November 18th.
I am very please
to announce that Shaw School will be conducting a pajama drive to help support the "Pajama Lady," who I am proud to say is a personal friend of mine who likes to remain "below the radar." This is the THIRTEENTH year that "S" has collected
new
pajamas for children and adults. She takes them and distributes them to churches and homeless shelters in the local area. At this point, in 12 years she has collected over 22,000 pairs of pajamas to benefit needy people. The Shaw Student council has made this their community service project. More details will follow, but there will be a classroom competition and I'd love for us t
o win!
I sincerely appreciate any donations that can be made
.
HOMEROOM 9
MONDAY: Gym
TUESDAY: Music and computer
(every other week with me)
WEDNESDAY: Art
THURSDAY: Gym and Second Steps
FRIDAY: Media Center
HOMEWORK:
1. Every child should be doing some reading in their AR book every night. Students need 25 points by the end of the term.
Children should now have an AR book with them at all times in class...
I will be doing random checks to make sure the students have a book. This will count as a homework grade in reading...100 for having it, zero for not having it.
2. vocab test next week...a list was given out Monday, November 9th
.
PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD BRING IN A WATER BOTTLE...All children
should have water bottles for class to limit class disruptions. Please make sure the student has WATER and not a sports drink.
Thanks!
Mrs. Magnant
