Reminders
Tuesday, December 15th – Report cards will be sent home today. If you have
any questions or concerns please let me know. Also, I will be putting
kindergarten rubrics in the report card envelope as well. This will help you
understand the report card. You may keep the actual report card but please
sign the envelope for first term and return to school ASAP.
Wednesday, December 9th – January Milk Money is due ~ $9.50
Friday, December 18th – Room 2’s holiday party! School Store will be open
Thank you very much to the families who donated glue sticks to the classroom!
In social studies and science, we will continue our Holiday unit. The
children will learn the traditions, not the religious aspect, of Kwanzaa,
Hanukkah, and Christmas. This week we will talk about Hanukkah and Christmas.
The children will read stories and create arts and crafts for each holiday.
We will start to make our gifts for you this week too!

In literacy, the story this is week is:
Story of the Week: Whose Garden Is It?
Phonics Skill: Bb and continue short “i” CVC words (Tim, mit)
Amazing Words: garden, plant, soil, gardener, seed, blossoms
High Frequency words: “he” and “for”
Comprehension Skill: Realism and Fantasy
In math, we will practice counting and writing numbers. We will also practice
more complex patterns (AAB, ABC and AABB), and creating and reading graphs. We
will also review the two coins we learned (nickel and penny).
