About The Teacher

It is a great joy and privilege to be Spofford Pond's Director of Bands. I'm
looking forward to meeting and instructing our new 4th Grade Band members and
working on new music with the 5th and 6th Grade Concert Bands and the 6th
Grade Jazz Band.

I earned my M.A. in Music Theory from Northwestern University and a B.A. in
Music from New York University. I began studying piano when I was 4 years old
and over the years have branched out to include our band instruments.

I've worked in the Spofford Pond Instrumental Program for the past 17 years
and was also the piano accompanist for the Junior and Senior choruses for 13
of those same years. From 2000 - 2006, I was the organist for the Second
Congregational Church of Boxford. Believe it or not, I was even a guitarist in
a rock band in high school!

I live in Boxford with my husband. We have two grown children who also played
in the Spofford Band.

Mission For The Class

ALL BAND MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO:

Represent Spofford Pond School and the Town of Boxford with dignity and honor
at all performances, whether they take place in or out of school.

Attend all lessons and rehearsals. These are a mandatory part of
participating in the band program.

Give 100% effort and attention at each band rehearsal in order to get the
most out of each rehearsal session.

Practice at home each day in order to develop technical skills, and to prepare
individual parts for band rehearsals.

Take your study of music seriously. Learning to play an instrument is a
opportunity that is not available everywhere. Take advantage of this and do
your best!
