The Month Ahead

'Tis the season and we are having trouble catching our breath, as I'm sure you are, too.  Our schedule is a little nutty this month, so I will try to organize some important dates for you:

  • Friday, December 4 Christmas Family Fun Night in the cafe
  • Wednesday, December 9 Foster child gift money due
  • Thursday, December 10 Parent-Teacher Conferences 5:00-7:00
  • Friday, December 11 Parent-Teacher Conferences 1:00-3:00
  • Friday, December 18 Second Grade Christmas production 1:30 in the cafe
  • Wednesday, December 23 Noon dismissal
We have also been celebrating Advent with a special program for our first and second graders.  It has been quite successful and a wonderful challenge for the teachers and students.  Each day, one of the first or second grade teachers presents a lesson based on Advent-related words of the alphabet.  The children are given a page with short activities to do and placed in their own Living Alphabet folders.  

In between rehearsals for our production and our special Advent program with the first graders, we are doing our best to keep our curriculum work on track. 

I hope to see many of you at the parent-teacher conferences.  In the meantime, I wish you all a wonderful, joyful holiday season.
