Hello St. Michael School students and parents, my name is Mrs. Roy.
I have been teaching students in Social Studies for four years, but I have
been a middle school teacher in various capacities since 1997. I received my
Bachelors degree in History from the University of New Hampshire and my M.Ed
from Lesley University. I have taught in the states of New Hampshire,
California and Massachusetts.
My favorite thing about teaching middle school students is to see how their
thoughts and opinions about social studies issues past and present change
over
the course of three years. I believe that thinking critically is a vital
skill
that students must develop before going off to high school and beyond.
When I am not teaching I enjoy being with my family; my two daughters, my
son and my husband. My lifelong hobby is horseback riding. I especially
enjoy trail riding and enjoying the geography of our region from the back of
the horse!
