Could it really be spring?  We are hoping to go outside to play more and expend some of the pent up energy!  Meanwhile, we are on the final stretch of our Pre-School year and there has been so much growth.  Not only is growth visible in the physical size and capabilities of your children, but they are becoming so knowledgeable!

We participated in the school-wide science fair and demonstrated our Moon Phase knowledge, displayed our work, and visited other science projects to see what the older students have been doing.

Homework:  Look up at night to the sky and see what you can identify!

February/March Greetings!

Wishing everyone a wonderful February vacation with fun, relaxation, family time, and a lighter schedule than usual!
We will return to school on Monday, February 27, 2017.
Reminder:  Ash Wednesday is March 1st.

It has been a very busy winter and your little ones have had a blast with Catholic Schools Week events, Winter studies, Valentine's Day cards and crafts, and anticipating their vacations either involving travel, or local play dates, special events, and downtime.

Last week we introduced all Preschool students to a pilot program: Math Shelf, which is an electronic teaching of mathematics with individual use of ipad applications.  The students all enjoy their time using the program.  Progress data is tracked and will be shared with parents toward the end of the year.
We are looking ahead to summer programming at St. Paul School and the upcoming School Gala Event.
Keep checking newsletters and emails!
Happy Vacation!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS EACH AND EVERY DAY!
JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!!!

Continued fun, learning, growing, praying, playing, with increasing independent skills evolving in Preschool!  Many new stories in literacy and children's biblical texts used throughout our Advent and Christmas Season, Praying with the whole school gathered each morning, and working with strategy, cognitive challenge games, fun song and dance moves, pre-reading readiness, letter recognition, phonics, math, problem solving, and more with technology usage, SmartBoard, as well.  Fine motor skills will be a continued focus as we round the bend from the mid-year point, with cutting, gluing, buttoning, fastening, etc.  Of course, play is a vital component for developing social skills, creativity, exploration, engineering, invention, imagination and motivation, and these little ones are enjoying their time engaged in these important developmental activities!

Thank you so much for the snacks, supplies, and helping out at lunch or with a classroom activity!!!  Let us know if you are up for a visit at any time, you can read a story, do an activity or game, or just sit and interact with the children.

One Solitary Life
He was born in an obscure village The child of a peasant woman
He grew up in another obscure village Where he worked in a carpenter shop Until he was thirty

He never wrote a book
He never held an office
He never went to college
He never visited a big city
He never travelled more than two hundred miles From the place where he was born
He did none of the things
Usually associated with greatness
He had no credentials but himself

He was only thirty three
His friends ran away
One of them denied him
He was turned over to his enemies
And went through the mockery of a trial
He was nailed to a cross between two thieves While dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing The only property he had on earth

When he was dead
He was laid in a borrowed grave Through the pity of a friend

Nineteen centuries have come and gone
And today Jesus is the central figure of the human race And the leader of mankind's progress
All the armies that have ever marched
All the navies that have ever sailed
All the parliaments that have ever sat
All the kings that ever reigned put together
Have not affected the life of mankind on earth
As powerfully as that one solitary life

October Blessings to St. Paul's littlest students and their families!!!

October is the Month of Our Lady and The Rosary, we encourage you and your family to try to recite at least some of the Rosary daily.

It has been a very busy start of our new school year at St. Paul's, and I'm sure your little ones are talking about some of their experiences.  In case they do not divulge very much, the photo link has been sent to you via email.  Snapping candid shots pretty frequently, I try to get them posted at least weekly for you to view.  Glimpses of them involved in many learning activities, playing and socializing, reveals their constant motion and curiosity.  They are very fun and energetic to be around.

While it is becoming the busy season leading into Holidays, please stop and smell the roses, as the saying goes.  Time flies quickly.  Visit St. Paul's lower chapel anytime, and especially on the First and Third Tuesday for Adoration.  It will slow you down, rejuvenate you, and give you the strength you need as busy parents in this day and age!

Don't forget Mass, too.  Pick up a Church Bulletin while stopping by.

September Blessings and a Big Welcome
to St. Paul's littlest students and their families!!!

It is a tremendous honor and privilege that I will be working with all of you at Saint Paul School this year as your child’s teacher along with Mrs. Pat Mariano, Early Childhood Paraprofessional Teacher Assistant.

It is our goal to assist you in facilitating learning opportunities for your son or daughter that cultivate physical, social, emotional, intellectual, growth, encouraging curiosity, exploration, creativity, socialization with peers, increased independence with developmentally appropriate tasks, while expanding knowledge and practice of the Catholic Faith.

We look forward to meeting all of you on our New Student Orientation Visit and Information Day, Wednesday, September 7,  9-10:00 a.m.

We will provide an overview of the program for parents, social/play opportunity for the new students, and an opportunity to ask questions, establish contacts, and hopefully discover a new Room Parent or Parents!
See you Wednesday!  Peace and Blessings, Mrs. Pessa

Summer Blessings
to St. Paul's littlest students and their families!!!

What a fantastic year in our pioneer Preschool program, our first group of 3 and 4 year-old students have had!  Academic, social, independence, and spiritual growth is visible in each child.

It is amazing to see how much individual progress has been made since September! Keep using all natural events and opportunities to talk about letters, numbers, shapes, weather, calendar, family, community, Catholic Faith with these little sponges of knowledge! What a Blessing to work with each one of them!

As we break for our summer season, please know you are prayed for.  You are encouraged to visit nearby Church offerings, as well as visit our school informally. Keep an eye out for local library offerings for your young learners.

Peace and Blessings, Mrs. Pessa
