What is one of the best things I can do for my child with ASD?
Praise Praise Praise!!!! Positive reinforcement for all of the good things your child does can help to make a significant change in their behavior. It sounds too easy but positive reinforcement is something that is easy to forget to do when life gets too busy!! Try to praise your child for ten things they are doing well daily- that will be a great start! If you are consistent and your child feels rewarded(sometimes something a bit more tangible is needed)then they will learn to do the good things for your positive attention vs the bad things for your attention. The key word though is.......CONSISTENCY!!!! =-)Back to Top
