MEETING TOPIC: We will be having our potluck social due to multiple requests
to move it to May instead of June. Please feel free to bring a food item and
join us! You are welcome to attend without bringing anything!! We will also
be having guest speaker Kristina Curro! She will be discussing her research
project and answer any questions you may have if you would like your child to
participate.
Kristina A. Curro, MA CCC-SLP is a doctoral fellow at the University of
Massachusetts-Amherst and a certified speech-language pathologist. Her
research focuses on understanding how children with Autism interpret the
pragmatic aspects of language. Her research is generously supported by a
grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Ms. Curro worked at Lambert
Lavoie school in Chicopee.
Study Summary: An eye tracking investigation of pragmatic inference in spoken
language comprehension of children with autism spectrum disorder.
We are looking for:
• Girls and boys between 9 and 12 years old
• Are “typical” or have a diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome or high-
functioning Autism
• Have normal or corrected vision
• Have no history of hearing loss

NEW FORMAT TO OUR MEETINGS:
We will be having meetings at Szetela & Fairview Middle School this year.
•The meetings at Szetela will focus on the needs of families with pre-school
and younger elementary aged children.
•The meetings at Fairview will focus on the needs of families with upper
elementary through high school aged children.
•You MUST RSVP if you need childcare!

*If a translator is needed at our meetings please give two weeks notice prior
to the meeting and we will happily arrange for someone to be present at the
meeting for your family.
