NewsFlash

Parents,
Just to let you know a few things that I wanted to remind you of at Open House:

1. Papers marked with "check mark"  or a large "C" means that they were practice papers and your child did well.

2. Papers with a grade on top signify that grades were taken for that activity.

3. Whenever you see a or a circle around an answer, your child made an error and it
should be corrected at home if it hasn't already been done so in school. TRY TO DO THIS IN A
POSITIVE WAY! By making your child correct his/her errors he/she is less likely to make that
same mistake again. This is a great time for one on one assistance.

4. It is VERY IMPORTANT that corrected papers be looked at and discussed together each
evening. This gives you a better idea of what your child is doing in school and where he/she
may be experiencing difficulty.

5. Each morning, encourage your child to do his or her best in school. Remind him/her how
proud you are of their efforts even if a bad grade is brought home. A child's academic progress
greatly depends on the attitudes that are carried to school each morning. Let's all try to
ENCOURAGE rather than DISCOURAGE.
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
