Pens- blue or black ink only 3. Pencils and erasers 4. A binder type notebook- 3 ring style or “trapper keeper” with some notebook paper 5. Subject dividers: math, science, social studies, language arts 6. One sturdy folder for bringing papers and homework back and forth between home and school. 7. A box of crayons and a 12” ruler--keep both at home for homework projects Things to avoid: 1. Mechanical pencils or the pencils with the refillable leads 2. Those plastic pencil boxes (that fall off desks and “explode” with all the stuff in them going everywhere) 3. White out 4. Erasable pens Students will be given an assignment planner and parents should sign or initial it each night, Monday through Thursday, after looking over their child’s homework for completion. This begins TODAY! I also send home a Conduct Card at the end of each week that tells you if your child turned in all assigned work and serves as a behavior report for that week. I ask that you sign it each weekend and send it back to me the following week. This counts as a homework assignment for your child. If I have listed any owed work on the conduct card, it should be completed over the weekend and turned in when your child returns the following week. Looking forward to a successful school year,
