I hope everyone has had a fun and relaxing summer with family and
friends. Mrs. Lukowski (my teammate) and I look forward to meeting all of
our new friends September 2nd! Check out the tab for supplies if you are
heading out school shopping. My homeroom children will have me for writing,
math, and science, while Mrs. Lukowski will be your teacher for social
studies and reading.
Reminder: Don't forget to finish your summer homework (Practicing addition
and subtraction facts through 20 with flash cards that you made or
purchased.) Remember you will be quizzed when we return during the first
week of school.
I'm looking forward to an exciting year together.

SPECIAL ATTENTION
PLEASE REMEMBER: We have several students with food allergies in the
classroom (CHOCOLATE and PINEAPPLE)! Please be sure to keep this in mind
whenever any food is sent in for celebrations, etc. The children will be
told not to share daily snacks with classmates to alleviate any potential
risks.
MATHEMATICS
Hopefully everyone has worked diligently on mastered addition and subtraction
facts. Please practice EVERY NIGHT for at least 10 minutes. It will make a
difference and will provide a stonger background as we move forward into
multiplication and division late in the year.
Be sure to check out the new links for math web sites.
OPEN CIRCLE
We are an Open Circle classroom. Hopefully your children are discussing
this program with you. We will have several Open Circle lessons each
week.
TEXT BOOKS
ALL text books are to be covered immediately. Students seem to
like the stretch fabric covers, however any NON-STICK sturdy paper cover
will do.
If you need a refresher in making book covers check out the attached
file in the DOCUMENTS tab.
Reminder: They should be asking an adult to look over their homework
after they have done a few problems to insure they are on the right track.
Be assured they will never be given an assignment that they have not
completed lessons for in class.
