Summer homework coming into grade 4 included studying and knowing the
basic multiplication facts. Attached you will find 2 timed tests your child
did the first week of school. Students must accurately complete the 50
problems in 5 minutes, and must have a grade of 45 or better to pass. We
will be having a 3rd test on Wednesday morning. Students who do not pass the
timed test will have additional nightly homework until they can pass the
test. Please help your child by practicing the facts nightly.
If you would like a copy of the skip counting songs we are singing in
class, please send in a blank CD. Students can also practice using various
web sites. Some of the sites are listed on the links page of our teacherweb
page. One of my favorite sites is http://www.freerice.com/index.php Click on
the subject tab to find the multiplication tables to practice. Students
donate 10 grains of rice to the every correct answer.
HOMEWORK
There will be a math practice sheet every night this week (Monday-Thursday
nights.)
Please have your child bring in 2 2 liter soda bottles for a science project
by the end of next week.
Mrs. Silbor is out sick today. Expect some homework involving spelling and
vocabulary practice this week. There will be new words and the students will
be tested Friday on the new words.
