What happens if my child forgets their homework?

Homework is due on Friday. Unless they have a note they will miss 5 mintues
of recess. They must bring their homework in on Monday, or they will lose
15 minutes of recess. The reading log is an important part of their
homework!

Can they turn homework in early?

I'd prefer they didn't turn homework in early, unless you know they will not
be at school on Friday. My hope is that they will get in the habit of
setting time aside each day to do homework, and not rush to get it all done
in one night.

What happens if my child doesn't finish their work during the day.

They can finish it whenever they have time in class--mornings before
announcements, when something else is done, during snack time or before
buses. If work is not done by Friday, they will work on it during our
special activity time on Friday.

What is your behavior policy?

We have a marble jar that I use for whole class reinforcement. Marbles go
in when I see positive behaviors, marbles come up when we need a reminder to
do the right thing. When our jar fills up, we vote on a reward!! Some
children who may need a visible reminder may have to sign their name in the
behavior book. The will be given a warning first, unless it is a Double D!
Once they sign two times, they will lose 15 minutes of recess and the parent
will be notified. Three times, and they will lose their whole recess. A
recess detention may be assigned.
