Due to the current budget crunch, we no longer have enough Marketing Essentials textbooks for all 70 Marketing students in all 3 classes. Thus assignments will be due 7 days after they are posted. Students can use "Loaner" books to bring home. Former students tell me that our homework assignments for a typical textbook chapter could be finished in one evening of homework. This is the first year we’ve had to do this, so we will expect some situations to arise. We are very flexible with students who tend to get all assignments finished on time when a situation arises. Students should TIME STAMP the work and place it in the black box at the front of the classroom. LESSON PLANS and ASSIGNMENTS will be posted on a new page that will be easier to update. As stated in other locations, Marketing Education is a Vocational Program with TWO COURSES that run concurrently throughout the school year. Students will receive TWO Grades in Report Cards. It makes it a bit difficult to prepare LESSON PLANS for such a situation. Most days during the 84 minutes of each period, we do a mixture of activities with some from the TEXTBOOK, and others in the SHOP or SCHOOL BASED ENTERPRISE segment of the program. Since DECA is a "co-curricular" part of the program that is fully recognized by the Mass. Dept. of Education and the U.S. Congress in the Perkins Vocational Education Act, we also include those DECA (Classroom) activities that reinforce the Curriculum that is approved by the DOE. It's confusing but please feel free to contact Mr. Medeiros if you have any questions about the course and what students learn and how they learn in this course. Thank you, Mr. Medeiros Marketing Education Supervisor
