About The Teacher

I became certified as a math teacher in the summer of 2003. I started 
teaching math in September 2003, and came to TPS in January 2004. Before 
teaching math, I worked as a Product and Program Manager at companies in the 
computer industry including Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq.

My goal is for my students to learn a little bit more each week about math 
and how to solve increasingly complex problems ... and while doing this, to 
try and have just a little bit of fun.

Mission For The Class

Our mission is posted over the door to the classroom:

All who enter here shall be patient and persistent in their pursuit of 
solutions to problems.

I believe, if every math student ...
1) Gives their best attention during class (including 
taking notes and asking questions about things they may not yet understand),
2) Reads the textbook and thinks about the "why?" while doing their 
homework, and 
3) Actively participates again when we correct homework the next day in 
class,
... they will make progress in their math each and every week. With this 
will come increasing confidence in their math skills and the ability to make 
further progress in math.
