| Instructional hours for Pre-Kindergarten Program
AM: 9:00 – 11:30 PM: 12:20 – 2:50
Please enter the classroom with your child through door number 6 (facing the
street near at the back corner of the Early Learning Center. For safety
reasons, the door is only open for a short time at 9:00 and 12:20. If you
arrive late and the door is locked, please bring your child in through the
office entrance.
Parents and caregivers may wait at the same door at dismissal time. We will
open the door when the children are ready. Your child will remain “glued” to
their seat until we see the adult that will be picking them up. At that time
we will tap your child on the head to “unglue” and release them safely to you.
Children will need a one snack (not candy please) and may bring a drink or
purchase white or chocolate milk for 50˘ daily.
Children should bring a backpack or other type of bag to school that is large
enough to carry their snacks in and for papers going home. It is not
necessary to have a lunch or snack bag inside the backpack. This only makes
snack time more difficult for little hands.
Comfortable clothing and shoes (such as sneakers) are best for this active
age group. Sandals are often uncomfortable on the playground since it is
surfaced with bark mulch.
Please label children’s outerwear with their names or initials.
Your child will participate in a gross motor group once a week, at which time
they will need to wear sneakers. “Fun with Marcie” is run by our physical
therapist, Marcie Chiuchiolo. Activities are designed to develop strength,
balance, and coordination.
We will need written permission for anyone other than a parent to pick your
child up from school. Please make sure to write out the full name of the
person who has permission to pick your child up. That person will be asked
to show an ID (license) for confirmation. Your child’s safety is important
to us!
Please see me at any time if you have questions or concerns regarding your
child. My school email address is kmercure@uxbridge.k12.ma.us. I check
emails daily, but please contact me (or the office) directly with any time
sensitive or important information. I may not get to check emails until late
in the day, and occasionally we have technical problems.
