What do I need to know about credit cards?

Credit cards pose a potential financial hazard. If used irresponsibly credit
cards can create a severe financial burden that can effect you for decades.
You will learn about credit cards and how to avoid or manage credit card debt
in all my classes.

Is there a book I can read during the school year or over the summer that can help me understand personal finance?

There are many well written books available. My favorite is a book called I
will Teach You To Be Rich by Ramit Sethi. This book is written for young
adults and is enjoyable to read and teaches excellent money management habits.
