Technology-In-Practice is a component of the
2010-2011 Professional Development Program. Every teacher will have the
opportunity to take a
T-I-P Mini-Course during the full and half
professional development days.
10 PDPs are awarded at the successful
completion of a T-I-P project and full attendance at the T-I-P sessions.
Teachers can also elect to enroll in the T-I-P Extended project for more PDPs.
For example, you can extend your T-I-P work by enrolling in a T-I-P Extended
Project and using the District/School-based time on the third available
Wednesday of the month, and keep a running record of this work.
T-I-P courses have been designed to provide
teachers and administrators with the opportunity to learn to use one or more
new applications in their practice. A variety of mini-courses will be offered
in three levels: Emergent, Proficient, and Advanced. Teachers self-select
their level, choose their mini-course, and develop a classroom- embedded
project as they take the course. s. At the beginning of September, faculty
will have the opportunity to choose a T-I-P Mini-Course that meets their needs
and fits their level of expertise.
Descriptions and syllabi will be posted here and
in MyLearningPlan.
