AT LOWELL
(Tune: For
Boston)
Words by Mrs. Fucci
At Lowell, at Lowell,
We sing a happy song.
At Lowell, at Lowell,
Big and small we get along.
For here we all practice the Golden Rule
RESPECT is
the word that we learn in school
At Lowell, at Lowel

The More We Get Together
(Our first song to sing and sign!)
The More We Get Together
The more we get together, together, together.
The more we get together.
The happier we'll be!
For your friends are my friends
And my friends are your friends!
The more we get together.
The happier we'll be!

Make New Friends
Make new friends
And keep the old
One is silver
And the other's gold.
A circle's round
It has no end
That's how long
I want to be your friend.
You have a friend
And I have another
Put them both together
And we have each other.

The Mealworm Hop
(Tune: The Bunny Hop)
From Ames Publications
The copyright is gratiously given
@2003 SuzyGazlay
Used by Permission
Mealworms sure walk funny.
They're not like us it's true.
Each leg pair moves together.
One! Three! Two!
Their legs don't move in order.
But this is what they do.
First, then last, then middle.
One! Three! Two!
Just what are these critters?
Let us give a clue
They're not worms, they're insects.
One! Three! Two!
Mealworms are the larvae
Of beetles, it is true.
They live in grain and flour.
One! Three! Two!
Grain beetles have four stages
As lots of insects do
Egg, larva, pupa, adult
One! Three! Two!
The eggs are very tiny
And last a week or two
Then hatch out into mealworms
One! Three! Two!
Mealworms are the larvae
Munching, chomping too
Shedding skins and growing
One! Three! Two!
The pupea are not active
Resting, changing too
They don't walk like mealworms
One! Three! Two!
Adults are known as "Darklings".
They don't fly it's true.
Do they walk like mealworms?
One! Three! Two!

We are also singing to learn our grade
level outcomes in math.
Students will identify odd and even
numbers to 20.
We group ourselves each morning and tell whether
there are an odd or even number of students present.
We can group objects and tell whether they are
odd or even
and we chant....
2, 4, 6, 8, 0,
Even numbers are really great!
1, 3, 5, 7 and 9,
Odd numbers stand alone in the line!

In Science, we are learning about repeated patterns in nature.
We are watching the changes that take place on a small maple tree
right in front of the school. We will continue to observe this tree throughout
the seasons.
We sing while we learn.....and we can sign this
one too!
The Season Song
(Tune: When the Saints Go Marching In )

Oh when the leaves, fall off the trees
Oh when the leaves fall off the trees
Then we know, it must be Autumn
When the leaves fall off the trees.

Oh when the snow, begins to fall
Oh when the snow begins to fall
Then we know, it must be Winter
When the snow begins to fall.
*
Oh when the birds, begin to nest
Oh when the birds begin to nest
Then we know, it must be Springtime
When the birds begin to nest.
*
Oh when the sun, gets oh so hot
Oh when the sun gets oh so hot
Then we know, it must be Summer
When the sun gets oh so hot!
