The
following information is for incoming Kindergartners in 2013.
To enter kindergarten during the
2013-2014 school year, your child must turn five on or before September 7,
2013 and be a resident in Watertown.
You will receive mailing from the
Watertown Public Schools regarding the registration process if you are on the Town
of Watertown census. The following events are also be posted in the Watertown
Tab available at your local convenience stores.
Kindergarten Information Night

Parents/Guardians of children entering
Kindergarten in the fall of 2013 are invited to attend the Kindergarten
Information Night. Kindergarten information sessions will be held at each
elementary school. Parents should attend the session held at their
neighborhood school. If you do not know your neighborhood school, please
call 617-926-7765.

Pre-Kindergarten Registration
The
Pre-K registration packet are distributed at the Kindergarten Information
Night. Additional packets are available through the Hosmer Pre-School. Pre
K registration packets are submitted at the Hosmer Pre-School. Students
with September through December birthdays have priority registration status
until March 9th, 2013; after which students will be accepted on a
first-come-first-serve basis. Please contact the Hosmer Pre-School
617-926-7765 with questions regarding PreK registration.
Kindergarten Registration
Please bring your registration
packet with the following to the Lowell School:
(1) Copy of Birth Certificate;
(2) 2 Proofs of Residency, one must be a
gas/electric bill;
(3) Copy of Student's Immunization dates and
recent physical (from a U.S. physician within the past 12 months

Student attending the Hosmer Early Step
PreSchool will need to submit a complete registration packet. Students
attending the PreKindergarten Program at the Lowell School will receive
a modified registration packet through their classroom. Students looking for
an out of district placement will need to submit an out of district
request form. The instructions are on the form (available "Forms"). Families
are typically notified of approvals in August.

State Mandated Kindergarten
Screening:
Screening will take place during the last
few days of this school year, currently scheduled for Wednesday, June 26th,
2013 and Thursday, June 27th, 2013. You will receive a letter in the mail
inviting you to bring your child in for an hour on one of those days ONLY
IF YOU HAVE SUBMITTED YOUR REGISTRATION MATERIALS. Please let us know at
Kindergarten Registration if you'll be out of town during kindergarten
screening and we try to arrange for a different screening appointment.
