4th Grade Physical Exam is now due. Please check your child's backpack for a reminder
.
Please do not send medication to school with your child, the nurse is the only person to dispense medication to your child.
Strep Throat is in several classrooms.
Parents:
1) Watch your child for signs of a sore throat and other signs of strep (headache, fever, stomachache, vomiting, swollen and tender neck glands).
2) Strep Throat is a sore throat caused by bacteria that are passed around through nose and mouth droplets. It is very common in children. Most sore throats, however are caused by viruses and are not treated with antibiotics.
3) Treatment with antibiotics not only treats your child but reduces spread of infection to other members of your family and other children.
4)Children with strep infections
may return to school
after
taking medication
for a least
24 hours
and are
fever free.
5) As always to prevent the spread of infection wash your hands after wiping noses and before eating or preparing food. Do not allow children to share food, cups, spoons or toys that are put into the mouth.
6)
Sleep, nutrition and hygiene
play a very big part in prevention and should be stressed at home and in school.
