About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
Welcome to third grade. I love to be a teacher. Working with kids is the most gratifying experience for me. I am a graduate of Boston State College with a Master's degree in dual concentration Linguistics and ELEMENTARY school administration. I bring to my classroom 37 years of teaching grades K-8 bilingual education, foreign languages at high school level, K-5 elementary education in Watertown and administration work at private schools. I was honored with a special PRESIDENTIAL AWARD,for excellence as a State Finalist in Elementary Mathematics, from the National Science Foundation in 1997. I love helping my students become life long learners, motivated investigators, excited to meet great challenges in this world. My husband and our two sons love to travel, enjoy family gatherings and we all put our BEST effort in everything we do.
Mission Label:
Mission
My mission for this class is to develop my student's love for READING to new hights, WRITING creatively great poems, and developing MATH skills to make sense in everyday life with inventive minds as scientists. In our class all learning styles will be addressed and students will participate in project based learning activities. Technology will be infused in our curriculum through research based learning and interactive sites. Higher order thinking skills and cooperative group work will foster quality teamwork. Building self confidence will lead to optimum level of performance. Open lines of communication with parents is very much desired, so we can work as a team towards the intellectual growth and development of our children. Finally, I plan to individualize student learning to provide assignments and activities based on each student's particular academic needs and interests.
