5/23/12 - Cluster 2 Progress Reports went home today. They are due back signed by Friday.

5/17/12 - 6:44 PM Just heard from Ms. Conceison that MAP testing was postponed and WILL NOT be taking place tomorrow. Make sure if you are in my section 2 or 4 that you have your homework done for tomorrow; you will have math on Friday.

5/11/12 - All 6th graders received a Field Trip Behavior Contract letter to bring home and discuss with their parents/guardians. The bottom portion of the letter needs to be signed and returned Monday.

5/7/12 - Checked email this morning, and more of you sent in your scores. I have heard from 60 of you. I would still like to hear from the other 32 of you before tomorrow's session two of the MCAS. Those who have replied have stated they found this practice test and the explanations on the Homework page of this site VERY HELPFUL.

5/5/12 & 5/6/12- The answers and instructions for this weekend's take home quiz are posted on the Homework page of this site. As of 2:02 on Sunday, I have heard from 42 of you. Great job to those of you who have taken this seriously and put forth your best effort! To the remaining 50 of you...I'm waiting...there are explanations posted on the homework page for most of the questions. Take the time to check them out and let me know how you did and if you have any questions you need explained.

It is 5:59, and I have heard from 50 of you...where are the rest of you! Come on you can do it!

5/1/12 - The 6th grade MCAS Test will be given on Monday and Tuesday, May 7th & 8th. We are reviewing this week. The students will have a heavier than usual load of math homework this week. However, the other cluster teachers are assigning less homework than planned.

4/23/12- Welcome Back...again...   :)REMINDER: Our homework policy states all work is due the day after assigned unless otherwise specified or arranged. Our cluster goes the extra mile by providing missing work reports each week as a courtesy reminder of work due. Any missing work from that week can be turned in on the following Monday for credit. After that, it is no longer available to be made up for credit and will remain a zero. You can make it up and receive feedback on accuracy for future improvement.

2/17/12 - I gave any student owing missing work a Missing Work Report today. Missing work is to be completed over vacation.

Also, we held Cluster 2 Awards Day today. Each student received a customized award honoring a strength in character or an attribute. It was a great experience to see all students leaving the auditorium with a sense of pride. The teachers in our cluster truly enjoy teaching this year's kids! Thank you all for making it a joy for us to come to work each day. See you all on the 27th.

2/14/12 - Michael Flynn and Ana Scott each won a Valentine cake today to bring home to share with their family members. All my students entered the Math Class Valentine Cake (free to enter) Raffle. Congratulations to the two winners!

2/7/12 - The presentation for the School Committee last evening went very well. Thank you to Kaitlin, Julie, Michaela K., Janaki, and Hakeem for showing up and speaking and for giving me moral support. I could not have done it without you all by my side! Also, a very special thank you to Toni Carlson for her support with the technology and for standing with us and speaking last night as well! I LOVE OUR SCHOOL SPIRIT AND LOVE OF LEARNING!

2/6/12 - I consolidated the pages on this site and added two new pages: Mrs. Evans' Wikis and Student Created Wikis. Warm-ups page for make-up. You will find homework related videos on the Homework Assignments page, and I plan to create How To videos for quick reminders of different math skills.

The Student Created Wikis page already has several great WMS 6th grade student created How To videos for you to view. Check them out!Each night look for your assignment or any helpful hints or answers on the Mrs. Evans' Math ACEs Homework page and then go to the Wikis page for the videos (if one is required for that evening).

Once you access my WikiSpaces page, you will see links for a few different pages. You will see Warm-ups, Homework Assignments, and How To. If you are absent on a day when a video warm-up is used, you will find the video on the Think about creating one of your own for extra credit to be added to the page...see me if you are interested.

2/5/12 - YAY! It's loaded. I had to record it four times, and it still took hours to convert, but your CW-21 (back) video is finally available for viewing. It is not the greatest version. The first one was my favorite, but by the time I got to take 4, I lost some of my sparkle...The screen is blank for a bit except for a stray mark to the right, but the audio starts right away, and the video is super helpful if you struggled, or are struggling with the 7 word problems. Get the link on the homework page. See you in class.

2/4/12 - TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. I have CW-21 (back) video...but it will not load. I am working with ShowMe help via email to see if they can help. If I cannot get it to load by day's end, I will post the answers to the questions on the homework page so you can at least know if you have them correct or not. Believe it or not, I am still having fun doing this. 10:42 PM...after spending several hours on this, I'm not having fun anymore today...posting answers on homework page. Still holding out hope the problem will be resolved, and the video will post. So check again tomorrow when you have time. But in the meantime, the answers are posted on the homework page. YOU MUST SHOW YOUR WORK FOR CREDIT.
