This school year, '09/'10, is my eleventh year with the Woburn Public Schools
and fifth at the Malcolm White. Previously I taught at the Reeves,
Linscott-Rumford, Goodyear and Wyman Schools. Many years ago, before I left
teaching to raise my family, I taught in Haddonfield, NJ, Stoneham, MA,
Philadelphia, PA and Los Angeles, CA.
My husband and I, along with our dogs, Maggie and Lizzie, live in
Lexington.
Our oldest, Peter, his wife Amy, three-year-old Jackson and toddler Alexa,
live in Bedford. Next in line is Chris, who lives in Hopkinton. He is
engaged to a wonderful young woman, Genny, who also teaches third grade, and
they will be married on Father's Day, 2010. The brothers, who are both
Boston College graduates, work together in the world they love, the hockey
world. They coach midget and Junior level Boston Junior Bruins' teams which
play within the Eastern Junior and Empire Hockey Leagues. They also
originated the Beantown Classic tournaments.
Our third child, Kristine, was graduated magna cum laude from Columbia
University, School of General Studies this past May. We are very proud of
this academic achievement, her induction into the School of General Studies
and Italian Honor Societies, and having received an award for excellence in
her major, Italian Cultural Studies. Kristine hopes to find a job that will
give her the opportunity to spend a lot of time in Italy.
Our youngest, Katy, a graduate of Elon University, NC, was awarded a Masters
Degreee from Northeastern University this past May. She is an administrative
assistant in the Northeastern University Law School, Co-op Department. Katy
was married to Kyle O'Connor on September 17th of '06. They are new owners
of a vintage Cape Cod style home in Bedford, which they are renovating.
Our nest, therefore, is empty except for all the belongings our children left
with us, which we're trying to get them to take to their own attics,
basements and garages. This is a project that is moving very slowly!
I love to watch hockey and synchronized figure skating, and I also enjoy
reading mysteries. Tea, crunchy cookies and dark chocolate are favorites.
Red and blue are my favorite colors.
For all students: to increase skill levels, add to their knowledge base,
develop greater personal responsibility, maximize strengths, minimize
weaknesses, and enjoy their school journey!
